Today I set out on a quest to fix my fog lights since they have never worked since I bought the car a year ago. Well turns out it was just the bulbs burnt out and I was able to easily replace them! Accessing the lights is annoying with the splash guard in the way, but I managed it fine. The original lights probably got wet since there was a bit of moisture in there so we shall see how long the new bulbs last. I may end up putting HIDs in there if I can figure out how to limit the moisture.

Then afterwards I met up with a guy from the NJ Miatas facebook group and we raced go karts at Speed Raceway. So much understeer! I am used to my car which oversteers always at the limit whereas these carts were all understeering. Turning in super early was necessary every time and I eventually got used to not being able to turn with the throttle. Fun time, managed to break into the 19s by the end!

Nice! I thought the karts there understeered quite a bit as well. One of these days I will have my own kart to take to NJMP!

Damn I gotta go back! Warm up your tires with braking/sawing the wheel and you won’t have as bad understeer.

Yeah it was manageable once I got used to it. But the first race I nearly went straight into a few walls while the wheel was fully turned haha. Once I realized how early and hard to turn the wheel, I didn’t need to use the brakes at all. I’ve heard Karting at NJMP is spectacular!

Lol it would be hilarious to watch someone spend a whole lap doing that. We were the only ones there and got there right when they opened so the tires were definitely cold as can be.

I do it on the warmup lap where they only give the cars like half power. Last time I was there, the back end stepping out was causing me trouble!

It must feel so empowering for them to control the carts with that remote. It should have an extra speed button too lol
